Meet Sarah
rosenburg, texas
Sarah has saltwater running through her veins. Before she was born, her grandparents were fortunate enough, to give her mom and siblings a taste of salt-life at a very young age. Sarah’s grandparents were business owners and saved up to purchase property on West Galveston Bay near San Luis Pass, TX. Their original house was in a cow pasture on the coast. It was more than a vacation home, then, it was a way of living, supplying food for the table with fresh trout and redfish any chance they had to hit the water. As time went on, they were able to purchase another home, which began the start of a new coastal community overlooking the San Luis Pass toll bridge.
It took many years to save up for a boat; once they were able to afford one, there was nothing stopping them. Now, Sarah is in a whole new world. She has two boys who love fishing and hunting, and a husband who loves to be outdoors with her, and she’s been grateful to find many other friends who also shares her love for the outdoors. She has been able to partner with friends in many fishing tournaments throughout the years such as Babes on the Bay in Rockport, TX, Lingerie on the Bay in Matagorda, TX, Galveston Redfish Series in Galveston, TX, West End Anglers tournaments out of West Galveston Bay, TX, and Legends in Lace out of Port O’Connor, TX.
Sarah has goals to travel to different states and bodies of water for fishing and hunting experiences. She would also love to experience more offshore fishing with larger species of fish. She wants to get a trout tattoo when she catches a 30-inch trout, and a mermaid tattoo, simply because she loves being in the water. Her grandpa’s running joke is that she spends so much time in the water, he’s sure she is growing barnacles on her skin.
“you only live once, so live every day like it’s your last”.
Hi, I’m Sarah
CO-HOST/WIFE/MOM/OUTDOOR ENTHUSIAST
In 1989, Sarah was born into this life, she knew nothing else but weekends with sand on her toes, beach waves in her hair, and making the best of days out on her grandfather’s boat. Her parents usually entertained her with small bait fish in a bucket for her to play with while on the boat.
When she became of age, she began wade fishing with her family in old sneakers and blue jeans. Grandpa’s instructions were always to shuffle your feet in case of stingrays and slap your rod tip on the water when the sharks got too close. She also knew that waking up early was a crucial part of these weekends. Coffee brewed, Mickey Eastman on the radio, and taking off into the bay to be on the flats by sunrise. Back then, she didn’t quite understand the value of fishing. It was something she grew up around, sometimes participated in when she wanted to make her grandpa proud, but as a young girl she wanted to run around and make friends, play on the beach, and even picked up surfing for a bit.
Nonetheless, when Sarah’s dad and grandpa came back to the house from fishing, it was always a “thing” to stop what you were doing, go out on the porch to marvel at their catches before they were filleted. It was the kid’s job to take plastic Ziplock bags down to the cleaning area and take the fish back up to the fridge.
Fast forward several years later, after college and finding her way in the workforce, Sarah began to recall her background and how much her family loved fishing when she was young.
Now grown-up Sarah and husband, Blaine, who quickly adapted to the salt-life, after meeting Sarah and her family, took up their own interest in carrying on the family’s traditions. Weekends at the bay. As a young family, they didn’t have a boat of their own and did a lot of surf fishing while their two kids were small.
